This establishment of OSPOs to achieve open source goals is gaining momentum in the public sector. In this panel discussion, we will learn from real-life experiences how OSPOs can be employed at international, regional and municipal levels to accelerate digital policy. Public sector OSPOs share many goals of corporate OSPOs, but can also differ dramatically in terms of scope and focus. Moreover, in a network, OSPOs can form the institutional infrastructure to reach public sector open source goals at a global scale. Representatives from the European Commission OSPO, the United Nations, OpenForum Europe and the French Government will share their own OSPO experiences and plans. Facilitated by Clare Dillon of Mosslabs, the panel will explore common strategies and principles that help the establishment of public sector OSPOs and best practices for scaling their efforts.
