Designing learning opportunities that prioritize human connection is key to establishing communities of excellence contributing to, using and releasing open source inside your organization. The pandemic has created a previously, not experienced type of isolation in the workplace. The absence of in-person conferences, of lunch discussions, and hallway chats have diminsioned the opportunity for organic learning, and spontaneous collaboration that is key to both driving innovation, and ensuring that policy, standards and processes are forefront of engineering practice. This this talk, I'll share our journey from research, to design and delivery that came together as a collaborative workshop series: 'Open Source Maintainer'. The title is aspirational, to help people connect the opportunity of open source with their personal and career goals. - Releasing Open Source - Contributing to Open Source on Behalf of Microsoft - Code of Conduct Enforcement for Inclusive Communities - Growing Open Source I'll also share a bit about the internal partnership with our Open Source Champs program that brings expert mentorship, and what we've learned along the way. This series will be released as a open educational resources for remix, and reuse in your OSPO.
