Mariam Guizani is a PhD student in Computer Science at Oregon State University, she recently completed her internship at Microsoft Research summer 2021. Her research area is in the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Software Engineering. Her researcher focuses on improving the state of diversity and inclusion (D&I) in open source from both the tool and community perspective. For the past year and a half she has worked alongside the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) to understand the state of diversity and inclusion at ASF and alongside the Director of IT Organizational Development at Oregon State University (OSU) to advance OSU IT’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). She holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Oregon State University and was a recipient of the Fulbright scholarship in 2016.
