Joanna Lee is an attorney and advisor open source foundations, technology standard setting organizations, and technology companies. She advises on open source licensing compliance, consortium formation and governance, intellectual property rights issues, non-profit governance, code of conduct enforcement, technology transfers and licensing, joint ventures, and a broad range of other issues related to software and technology.  Joanna is a community leader for the Inclusive Naming Initiative (inclusivenaming.org), a non-profit whose mission is to promote and facilitate replacing exclusionary language in information technology. Joanna is a Partner at the law firm of Gesmer Updegrove LLP, where she chairs the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Prior speaking experiences include “Words Matter: Evolving Inclusive Language and Conscious Naming in Tech”, Agility F5 Conference 2021; “Lowering Barriers to Inclusion in Open Source Ecosystems”, Linux Foundation Open Source Summit Europe 2020; “Introduction to Open Source Software in the Enterprise”, Data Administration Management Association PDX (DAMA PDX) 2020; and “How to Make Your Execs and Lawyers Enthusiastic Supporters of Open Source”, ONF Connect 2021.
